Who we are

Helios Intelligence, Inc. (“Helios,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a research and technology company based in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. This policy explains how we handle personal information in connection with our website at heliosinc.xyz, our marketing and advertising activity, and our communications with visitors, applicants, customers, and partners.

It does not cover third-party websites or services we link to. Those are governed by their own privacy policies.

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Information you give us. Your name, email address, and anything else you choose to include when you email us, apply for a role, request materials, or otherwise get in touch. If you apply for a job, this includes your résumé, portfolio, work history, and any other application materials you send.
  • Information collected automatically. When you visit our website we and our service providers may record technical and usage data such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages and content you view, the time and duration of your visit, and approximate location derived from your IP address (typically city or region level).
  • Cookies and similar technologies. We and our advertising and analytics providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to keep the site working, measure traffic, and understand the performance of our marketing.
  • Advertising and campaign data. When you interact with an ad we run, our advertising platforms report information back to us, such as which ad or campaign you came from and whether a click led to a visit or a conversion. This is generally provided to us in aggregated or pseudonymous form.

We do not ask for and do not want sensitive personal information (such as health, biometric, financial account, or government identifier data) through this website. Please do not send it to us through the site or by email.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and services.
  • Respond to your questions, requests, and applications.
  • Measure and improve how our content, marketing, and advertising perform, including which campaigns bring people to our site.
  • Plan, buy, deliver, and report on advertising campaigns for our own products and roles.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other harmful or unlawful activity.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and agreements.

Where the law requires a legal basis for processing, we rely on our legitimate interests in running and improving our business, on your consent (where we ask for it, such as for certain cookies or marketing), on the steps necessary to enter into or perform a contract with you, and on compliance with legal obligations.

Advertising and analytics

We advertise our products and open roles on third-party platforms, including Google Ads and other advertising networks. We use those platforms’ tools and APIs to create, manage, measure, and report on our own advertising accounts and campaigns. Where a platform offers programmatic access, we use it solely to administer the accounts we own or that a client has authorized us to manage, and we handle any data obtained through it in accordance with that platform’s terms and this policy.

These platforms may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure ad performance and, in some cases, to show you our ads on other sites. We may also use privacy-focused website analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns.

You can control much of this yourself. Google’s ad settings at myadcenter.google.com let you manage ad personalization, the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info) offer industry opt-out tools, and your browser settings let you block or delete cookies. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money. We disclose personal information only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers. Vendors that host our site, deliver our email, provide analytics, run our advertising, and support our internal operations. They may process personal information only on our instructions and for our purposes.
  • Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or a governmental request, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Helios, our users, or others.
  • Corporate transactions. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case personal information may be transferred as a business asset, subject to this policy.
  • With your direction. When you ask us to share information or otherwise consent to it.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, and then delete it or render it non-identifiable. How long that is depends on the type of information: correspondence and application materials are kept for as long as they remain relevant to our hiring or business relationship, and technical and analytics logs are kept for a limited period for security, measurement, and troubleshooting. We keep information longer where a law, an audit, or a legal claim requires it.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and limiting access to people who need it to do their jobs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request that we correct or delete it, to receive a copy in a portable format, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent you previously gave, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it in that sense). You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To make a request, email hello@heliosinc.xyz. We will verify your request, usually by confirming control of the email address associated with the information, and respond within the time the applicable law allows. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To stop receiving email from us, use the unsubscribe link in the message or email us directly. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where required by law.

International transfers

We are based in the United States and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. If you access our site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in a country whose data protection laws differ from those of your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.

Children’s privacy

Our website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of the page, and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
